Terms of Service

Acceptance

By using Widget Burger, signing in, installing the browser extension, or adding widgets to your new tab, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The Service

Widget Burger provides a public widget marketplace and a configurable browser new tab experience. You can browse widgets publicly. Signing in lets you add configured widget instances and sync extension configuration with your account.

The product is provided as an evolving service. Features, widgets, categories, APIs, sync behavior, extension permissions, and availability may change over time.

Accounts

You need an account to add widgets and sync configuration. Authentication is provided through Google sign-in when enabled. You are responsible for keeping your Google account and devices secure and for activity that occurs through your signed-in Widget Burger session.

You must provide accurate account information and must not impersonate another person, share an account in a way that creates security risk, or try to access another user's data.

Browser Extension

The extension uses browser storage and IndexedDB to run your new tab, cache widgets, save layouts, and keep local preferences. It uses cookies permission to detect your Widget Burger session for sync. API-backed widgets may ask for optional host permissions for the specific provider needed by that widget.

You are responsible for deciding whether to grant optional browser permissions and whether a widget is appropriate for your use. Revoking a permission or clearing local storage may limit or reset extension features.

Your Content and Configuration

You keep ownership of content and configuration values you enter, such as notes, snippets, links, labels, tab names, postal codes, origins, and other widget settings. You grant Widget Burger a limited license to store, process, display, transmit, and sync that content only as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

Do not enter content that you do not have the right to use, that violates law, or that infringes someone else's rights.

Third-Party Services and Widget Data

Some widgets display public or account-connected data from third-party services, including weather, currency, holiday, map, news, knowledge, wallpaper, and Elewave providers. Third-party services may change, fail, rate-limit requests, return inaccurate data, or apply their own terms and privacy policies.

Widget data is provided for convenience and personal productivity. Do not rely on Widget Burger for emergencies, safety-critical decisions, medical, legal, financial, compliance, or other professional advice.

Acceptable Use

• Do not break the law or violate anyone's rights.
• Do not interfere with, abuse, overload, scan, scrape, or disrupt the service or its providers.
• Do not bypass authentication, permissions, rate limits, or security controls.
• Do not upload, enter, or transmit malicious code, deceptive content, or unauthorized personal data.
• Do not use Widget Burger to monitor people, collect browsing activity, or create privacy-invasive workflows without clear user consent and legal authority.
• Do not resell, copy, or commercially exploit the service unless we agree in writing.

Fees

Widget Burger does not currently charge end users for the features in this service. If paid features are introduced later, the applicable price and payment terms will be shown before purchase.

Ownership

Widget Burger, the site, the extension, the built-in widget catalog, software, design, logos, and related materials are owned by Widget Burger or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property to you.

You may use the service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms, browser store rules, and applicable law.

Feedback

If you send ideas, bug reports, or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation. We are not required to treat feedback as confidential.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Widget Burger at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk for the service or other users, or used the service unlawfully.

After termination, some provisions continue to apply, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and any terms that by their nature should survive.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Widget Burger is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every browser, or that widget data from third parties will be accurate or available.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Widget Burger and its operators, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, service interruption, or third-party provider failures.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Indemnity

To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend and hold Widget Burger harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, your content or configuration values, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

Consumer Rights

Some jurisdictions provide consumer rights that cannot be waived. These Terms are not intended to limit rights you have under laws that apply to you.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the product, browser platform rules, providers, or legal requirements change. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to make the updated Terms available before they apply. Continued use of the service after updated Terms apply means you accept the updated Terms.
